Cute little robot that will be great for kids to play with, or remotely connect with your pets. The robot will store pictures and video on a local SD card until you download them to the phone app. The app can be used on a local network or across the internet as the robot connects to a server. Images can be 1080p or lower resolution. Lower resolution is better over the internet. A FPV is provided in the app to drive, configure and access media. Driving around is basically toy mode. Two security plans are included - let the robot take videos on a time based schedule, or let the robot take videos when detecting motion. When motion is detected you can choose the receive a notification. Another mode allows the robot to roam randomly, recording videos, but only for 3 minutes. I didn't like that limitation but after using the device for days, I suspect the 3 minutes is because the robot can't seem to find its way home if it looses range of sight. When viewing the robot camera through the app, you can see an infrared beacon. So phone home needs improvement but I am not sure if a firmware update will be provided And yes, there are firmware updates easily available through the app. Night vision works pretty good, indoor daytime as well. I used the robot mostly on tile floors. It is a small robot the size of a softball, so although the track wheels are powerful, it can't navigate up a carpet or across a room floor divider. It isn't a vacuum. It also provides fairly decent two way audio in conjunction with one way video. The audio is easy to understand. BTW, the packaging and build of the robot is solid. It feels like a great appliance, not a cheap plastic toy. So for what it provides, it is a fun device.
